Participant Personal Information We Directly Collect:
In order to operate our website or serve our Participants, StartHub will collect various information, including:
- Account registration or inquiry information including your name, role or title, company email, company name, company website URL, social media profile information.
- Registration information associated with newsletters, events, workshops, seminars, webinars, or tutorials.
- Scheduling information associated with any direct conversations with tutors, mentors, or others in our Participant network.
- Engaging with requests from any of our affiliated or incentive-based business partners, including professional services, technology or business development/management services.
- Correspondence, which may include any personal information provided during email correspondence or inquiry forms.
- Billing, payment and administrative finance information.
- Information about visitors to our website and how our Participants use our Services, including time spent on our website, behavioral activity, and metadata associated with software interactions. Please see ‘Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies’ below for more information.
- Applications for employment, including any associated information such as education, role, title, employers, certifications and credentials, and references.
Personal Information Our Participants Provide Through Our Services:
When our Participants use our Services, they may enable StartHub to process various types of personal information on their existing community of co-founders, investors, and mentors, (“Community Members”). Below, we provide a list of the commonly processed personal information of Community Members. Please note, the below list is not exhaustive of all personal information, and is intended to serve as a sample set.
- Contact information such as name, email address, phone, and postal address.
- Professional information such as education, role, title, employers, certifications and credentials, and references.
- Social media reference information, such as handles, profiles, and associating statements or posts.
- Proprietary information about Participant relationships, including historical transactions, engagements, communications, and notes about correspondence.
We may also receive personal information from third party data services, such as name, title, email, phone, or other addressable information in order for us to solicit them to become potential Participants.
2. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
Subject to the terms of this privacy policy and our client agreements, we may use personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide our Services, including:
- Identifying and engaging with prospective and current Participants. Please note, phone numbers will not be displayed publicly, but will only be used for StartHub internal purposes.
- Creating compelling and relevant content for training, awareness, communications and marketing outreach.
- Measuring marketing, advertising, sales, and communications performance.
- Participant support, including email, phone, and chat.
- To improve our Services, for example, we may modify our website user interface based on user behavior or create predictive models for future advertising or marketing campaigns.
- To authenticate, verify or otherwise ensure compliance with Participant written instructions or to mitigate the risk of fraud.
- Aggregated or anonymous information about the various types of information, integrations, metadata, and performance metrics to ensure our Services are serving their intended purposes and for product improvements.
- For any legal purpose necessary, including IP protection, or if StartHub is required to process information as a result of a court order or other legal or regulatory proceeding.
Analytics and Account Measurement
We use Google Analytics and our own first-party analytics to understand how people use StartHub, find problems, and improve our programs and website.
When you create an account and analytics is permitted, we may send your StartHub account ID to Google Analytics. We do not send your name or email address to Google Analytics. Sending the account ID lets us measure activity consistently, for example across devices or before and after you sign in. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy.
You can turn off analytics at any time by visiting the public StartHub website (opens in new tab) and selecting Cookie settings in its footer. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How We Connect Your Activity to Your Account
When marketing is permitted, we connect your activity on StartHub with your account and email address in our internal marketing and customer-management systems. This includes:
- Pages and programs you viewed.
- Actions such as signing up or starting checkout.
- How you first found us, such as the website or ad campaign that referred you.
This can include activity from the same browser before you created an account or signed in.
We use this information to understand your interests and to personalize our communications, as described below. In the United States, marketing is on by default unless you turn it off in Cookie settings or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Elsewhere, including the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Quebec, we only do this with your consent. Signing out disconnects this tracking from your account. Turning off marketing stops new activity from being linked, but does not delete information we already hold. To request deletion, contact us (see Privacy Choices above).
Personalized Outreach by Email, Phone, SMS, and WhatsApp
We may contact you about StartHub programs, events, and offers by email, phone call, text message (SMS), and WhatsApp. We personalize these messages using the information you gave us, such as through forms, signup, or calls with our team, together with your activity on StartHub. For example, a message may mention a program you viewed.
We send marketing text messages, WhatsApp messages, and calls only where you have agreed to receive them or as otherwise permitted by law. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop at any time:
- Text messages: reply STOP. Reply HELP for help.
- WhatsApp: reply STOP or block our business number.
- Phone calls: tell the caller you don’t want further calls.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Any channel: email support@starthub.academy.
We will still send messages needed to provide our services, such as account, payment, and course-access messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We may use service providers to deliver messages on our behalf; they may use your information only to provide that service.
Advertising with Meta
We share information with Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our advertising, attribute signups and purchases to our ads, and show ads to people who may be interested in StartHub. We do this in three ways:
- Meta Pixel. A tool on our website that reports events from your browser, such as page views, signups, leads, checkout starts, and purchases.
- Meta Conversions API. Our servers send similar events directly to Meta. These events may include:
- Your email address in hashed (scrambled) form
- An event or payment identifier
- Meta browser identifiers
- Your IP address
- Browser details
- The page address
- For purchases, the amount and currency
Hashing makes your email harder to read, but it is not anonymous. Meta uses this information to match events to Meta accounts.
- Customer lists. We may upload contact information in hashed form to Meta. We use these lists to create Custom Audiences and lookalike audiences, to exclude existing customers from ads, and to measure results.
Meta handles this information under its own privacy policy. To opt out:
- Website tracking: turn off marketing in Cookie settings, or use a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal. This stops the Meta Pixel and the server events tied to that browser.
- Customer-list uploads: email support@starthub.academy and we will exclude you from future uploads and remove you from audiences we have already uploaded.
- Ads you see on Meta: use the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
We do not sell personal information for money. Under some U.S. state privacy laws, sharing information with Meta for advertising may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising.” You can opt out using the options above, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals as a request to opt out.
Legal Bases (European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland)
If you are in these regions, we rely on the following legal bases for the activities above:
- Consent: for analytics and marketing cookies, connecting your activity to your account for marketing, sharing data with Meta for advertising, and marketing by text message, WhatsApp, and phone. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.
- Legitimate interests: for email marketing to existing customers about similar StartHub programs, where the law allows it. You can object at any time, and we will stop.
- Contract: for messages needed to provide the services you signed up for.
You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time, including profiling for that purpose.
3. HOW WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION
Our Services may synchronize our Participant information with external services, software, data or social applications, which may include the transfer of personal information. Some of the types of applications are:
- Cloud Or Other Storage Services.
- Virtual and In-Person Meeting and Events.
- Content Management.
- Participant/Customer Support.

- Detect and protect against fraud.
- Comply with law or legal process.
- Complete a legal transaction related to the sale of our business or any assets.
StartHub may disclose aggregate or anonymous information for any purpose. This means that the information we disclose does not identify specific individuals, or is combined with other data to protect your privacy.
4. PRIVACY CHOICES
With respect to our Services, we provide our Participants with the right to exercise the following choices with our use of your personal information:
- Access the personal information we maintain about you.

You can exercise these rights by contacting us at privacy@Starthub.academy.
5. COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Like many companies, we use cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities, your interactions with our websites or emails, and to serve tailored ads on other websites. There are a number of ways to opt out of having your online activity and device data collected through these Services for our advertising purposes, which we summarize below.
- Tailored advertising using your email address. If StartHub has collected your email address, it may be used for tailored advertising on other websites, including through social media such as LinkedIn. To opt out of this use, please email us at privacy@Starthub.academy.

To do this, follow the instructions in your browser settings. Many browsers accept cookies by default until you change your settings. For more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your device and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org (opens in new tab).
- Advertising Industry Opt-Out Tools. You can also use these opt-out options to limit use of your information for interest-based advertising online or in apps by visiting http://optout.aboutads.info (opens in new tab) or http://youradchoices.eu (opens in new tab) for EU visitors.
- With Each of Our Vendors Individually. The following advertising or marketing service partners offer opt-out features that let you opt-out of use of your information for interest-based advertising or profiling:
Please note that because these opt-out mechanisms are specific to the device or browser on which they are exercised, you will need to opt out on every browser and device that you use.
6. SMS/TEXT MESSAGING
If you opt in to receive text messages from StartHub Academy Inc., we collect your mobile phone number and consent record to send you messages about our programs, offers, and your account. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share this information only with service providers (such as our messaging provider) solely to deliver messages on our behalf.
7. SECURITY
We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of personal information in our custody and control. Despite our efforts, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or use will never occur. It is important that you take steps to keep your information safe and secure. Choose an account password that is hard for others to guess and don’t reveal it to third parties. If you use a shared public computer, do not opt to have your login ID or password remembered and be sure to log out of your account when you finish.
8. RETENTION
We will retain Participant personal information according to the terms of our written agreements, and then for a minimum of five years in accordance with our Participant retention policy.
